Memorial Day

Silent Auction for the TCPO’s music series  and more!

Greetings from beautiful downtown Todd!

Wow, things have really greened up here in Todd over the past couple weeks!  It’s been a little wet recently, but this coming Memorial Day Weekend looks like it’s going to be perfect weather to be in Todd!

Todd Community Preservation Organization is holding it’s 3rd annual Save the Music Silent Auction and Community Art and Yard sale is THIS Saturday from 9-2 at Cook Memorial Park!  We are still in need of donations both for the silent auction and the yard sale – if you would like to donate a service, gift certificate, an item of art or antique or just something really cool – the TCPO could use it!  Drop the items off at the Todd Mercantile or call the TCPO/Todd Mercantile at 336-877-5401.  Plus, it’s a great time to clean out that garage and donate forgotten items to a good cause – plus you get a tax deduction!

If you would like to participate with your own table/booth just come on by the park Saturday morning and the TCPO will designate a spot for you to set up!  It is totally free for anyone who wishes to participate this year, so come on down!

Thanks to all the folks who came out last Friday to the Community Pot Luck Dinner and then to the Contra Dance.  A film crew was here at the Todd Mercantile from North Carolina Weekend (airs on UNC.TV)  The crew said they really enjoyed their time in Todd and hope to be back soon!  I also wanted to give a shout out and a huge thanks to those who made time to come down and be interviewed for the segment.  I will let you know when it is set to air.  North Carolina Weekend airs Thursday and Friday nights on UNC.TV.

Monday, Memorial Day the Todd Mercantile will be open!  We are adjusting to our summer hours of 7 days a week starting this day.  The hours are listed on the left hand side of the page.  Please stop in and say hi to Deborah, who will be working Monday and Tuesdays (and likely a lot more than that!).

The TCPO Free Summer Music Series kicks off Saturday, June 8th with the King Bees.  I’ve linked to the websites of the bands  scheduled to perform so you can check them out!  During the concerts the TCPO will have hamburgers and hot dogs on the grill so come hungry!  COncerts run 6-8pm (except for the Kruger Bros.)

Tickets go on sale Memorial Day weekend also for The Kruger Brothers concert being held August 24th.  The concert will also feature Wayne Henderson and Charles Welch.  Tickets are 15.00 in advance and 18.00 the day of show.  Toddnc.org will have details on where you purchase these tickets – or you can stop by the Mercantile.
Hope to see you soon at the Todd Merc!
